About Ben Benjamin

Most people don’t know my real name is Horace, and many are often confused as I share the same name as my father.  For the record, this message pertains to “Little Ben.”  Born in Newport Beach, Ca in 1974. I am a California Native and have spent most of my life on or near the Pacific Ocean.

For the first 30 years of my life I would characterize myself as a Dead Head who enjoyed “Discovering the wonders of nature.”  Racing sailboats, listening to the Grateful Dead, and always looking for a real good time.

In the spring of 2004 my life changed forever.  2 months after committing my life to Christ my mother died unexpectedly.  An obvious part of Gods plan, perhaps, but more the ultimate challenge of trust.  Would I trust Jesus?  After all, once we commit to Christ good things are supposed to happen, right?

By the grace of God my life has changed.  I am no longer chained by the addictions that enslaved and defined who I was.  Instead I am a husband, and father to a beautiful family.  It is clear to me that the blessings in my life are not by my own good choices or hard work.  I have received an undeserved gift.

My primary ministry is to my wife (Carolyn) and children (Liam & Ella), but in the last few months God has oriented my heart and mind to the “Window of Opportunity” in Europe.  It is my belief that God is in the business of restoration & healing.  That God loves EVERYONE, for he is love.  At no time in history has a humanitarian crises such as the one unfolding in Syria & Europe ever existed like this.  We have an unique opportunity to extend love and share the truth of the gospel in a divine way.

Millions of refugees have experienced violence and evil, now we get to show them love and justice.  My prayer is that Jesus will gather these refugees in his arms, through our arms, and they will experience the love we all deserve.  Jesus said, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

I am in.  Are you?
